Have you ever wondered about the world of music and the industry that works endlessly to support it? It can be quite the task and now more than ever, in the face of a pandemic, it is difficult for venues and organisations to remain financially stable. Yet still the passion lives on. How, you ask? Get ready to pick up your pass, you’re invited backstage to Underscore Part 3’s AAA Pass – Industry Interviews!
Here at Underscore Part 3, we will be talking to people in the industry to uncover their top tips and insider facts. Starting from July 6th, Underscore Part 3 founder James Wadsworth will be hosting live streams on our Instagram, asking all the questions on how to be successful in the music industry. The streams will start from 8pm each evening from 6th-17th July, each one hosting the opportunity to learn from the experts, from the comfort of your own home.
Confirmed guests include musician Frank Turner, AF Gang Founder and music photojournalist Lindsay Melbourne, Campaign coordinator for #SaveOurVenues & manager at The Green Door Store music venue Toni-Coe Brooker and Rough Trade sound engineer Nick Meadows and more. It is our hope that not only will these guests give an insight into their role in the industry, but also provide some form of encouragement for anyone to fulfill their potential. This is all about lifting the lid, de-bunking the myths and being realistic, whilst empowering the next generation of industry hopefuls and musicians.
This online event is free to attend, but we will be accepting donations for CALM – Campaign Against Living Miserably and Save Our Venues Trust, via a link in our Instagram bio. We have chosen these organisations to support in light of the overwhelming struggles felt this year. The pandemic has had a big influence on venues all over the world, as well as mental health, and of course quite often the two have coincided with one another. In any case, both organisations are close to our heart and we want to utilise our space on the internet to show some support.
As if this event wasn’t exciting enough, we are pleased to say that it is just one part of a three week collaboration with WFM Blog. Keep your eyes peeled for further announcements on what is to come – full details of which will be available on all socials. Check them now for a sneak peek. #FeltCuteMightDeleteLater.
