A short, sweet and snappy single heralds the Isle Of Wight native’s breaking through into 2020; and, to the surprise of no one, it’s a banger!

After a incredible 2019 — involving a BBC Radio One Maida Vale session, playing Shepherd’s Bush Empire supporting The Regrettes and playing Glastonbury — Lauran Hibberd is back to her usual charismatic self, and better than ever.

‘It’s chaotic, rebellious, and just a little bit cheeky’

‘Bang, Bang, Bang’, is the continued theme Lauran paved in 2019, it’s catchy as hell. It’s chaotic, rebellious, and just a little bit cheeky. It’s an anthemic, exciting ball of frantic, frenzied fun. And it’s very Lauran. With an easy-to-pick-up chorus — most of the words are in the title — you’ll find yourself humming or singing along hours after the barely two-minute-long song fades away. Between the poppy, drum laden hooks and the slightly angst-fuelled lyrics, which were written as always from her own past experiences (thus becoming instantly relatable) the song is the perfect pop-punk esque soundtrack to being young. In fact, Lauran herself describes it as her ‘ode to the teenage girl’ glorifying her for being able to put up with all the shit modern life throws at her. “It’s the cycle of going back to the same person even when you know you shouldn’t and I guess the fallout of all of that”but, like the title suggests, “everybody loves a bang!”

Coming just before a headline tour — including Camden Assembly, Bristol’s Louisiana and Manchester’s The Deaf Institute — it perfectly sums up the energy of both Lauran’s music and her live show; and if it doesn’t convince you to go see her, nothing will. Trust us, it’s not something you’ll want to missthese shows are destined to go off with a bang!
