“[With 17 Days being Annie Taylor’s] opening statement for [their upcoming] album we’re sure the full-lengther is going to be one to look forward to.”

Earlier this year Swiss grungers caught our attention with their EP Not Yours so the news of new single 17 Days was met with excitement in the office. We commented that the EP shows the “band that have more to come” and that “the next logical step is a longer release which will allow further exploration and solidifying of their sound.” This led to our excitement peaking further when we learned 17 Days is the first single off their soon to come debut album; as an opening statement for the album we’re sure the full-lengther is going to be one to look forward to.

17 Days shows simplicity is often the right path and have not over complicated things with this simple structured song”

Smashing in 17 Days is Annie Taylor’s blatant surf number which takes us pleasantly by surprise; Annie Taylor again are pushing further boundaries as songwriters having stuck to primarily grunge sounds on the EP. 17 Days shows simplicity is often the right path and have not over complicated things with this simple structured song based around a repeating chord pattern.

“It is with compliments that the wet vocal work on 17 Days could confuse a novice listener for Ellie Rowsell of Wolf Alice.”

17 Days has the bands trademark Britpop guitar soloing to close the track, as with their previous work the graceful guitar work elevates 17 Days to a new level. It is with compliments that the wet vocal work on the track could confuse a novice listener for Ellie Rowsell of Wolf Alice and the production is exactly what we want from summer surf-punk. 17 Days is an opening statement leaving us wanting more, we’re along for the ride; hang ten!
